I Bet You Didn’t Know
If its up to me, my favorite days are spent exploring the world with my fiancé Kimberly and our daughters. We love to try new restaurants and seek out historic sites, old book stores, and new adventures. I also collect books, particularly small press books, and have a home library of about 7500 volumes. Finally I’m very passionate about my volunteer work on the Board of Directors at EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute, which supports citizens returning from prison through culinary arts and hospitality training, support systems, and job placement.
What I Love About My Job
I worked with a lot of consulting groups during my sixteen years in public education. I always dreaded those collaborations because they meant trying to force my schools into the box created by the agency. TIES is so different. Every engagement at TIES is completely novel because every engagement at TIES is completely designed around the needs of the organization we are serving. There are no on-size-fits-all solutions and TIES has the right people to help design a bespoke solution that actually makes change possible.
A Transforming Moment
How do you choose a single transformation story from a fifteen year history of transformation? If I have to choose, my favorite story is still being written. The Euclid Schools are in the process of developing an incredible Pre-K program centered around engineering and digital fabrication. This is going to be a on-of-a-kind program that will change early childhood education as we know it.
