Veronica Gonzales joined the TIES team with extensive and diverse experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. She has a strong dedication for building partnerships to advance the capacity of communities, especially focused on marginalized populations. Veronica has worked to build collaborative programs in the areas of education, child welfare, leadership, and diversity in public service.

As the Deputy Director of the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice, a global initiative, she leads learning, communications and peer collaboration for leaders across 80 national and four global communities. Recently dubbed the “V-Factor,” Veronica’s role includes facilitating conversations and learning through virtual conversations, strategic planning efforts in regional communities, and the execution of two annual convenings per year. In addition to this work, Veronica acts as a senior STEM consultant for TIES, working on special projects such as the development of a family engagement playbook and corporate community engagement strategies.

Prior to joining TIES, Veronica served as the director of development for Silicon Valley Education Foundation cultivating business relationships and managing all marketing for the organization. As a trusted member of the executive management team, she also helped advance strategic projects to support STEM education in Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area. Veronica also has experience managing multimillion-dollar capital campaigns, operating programs to increase diverse representation in public service and began her career overseeing sales and merchandising teams in corporate retail. This experience continues to be a useful skill set in her ability to liaise between the private and public sectors.

Veronica holds a Master of Science in Social Work, specializing in Social Enterprise Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. She has worked abroad in Latin America and consulted on international projects, including education research for UNICEF, that has impacted countries across the globe. Veronica is also an avid traveler, having visited over 20 different countries.
